Swimming
When our little girl came to us, she was terrified by water. She would take a bath, but never in more than an inch or so. More than that would trigger a terror response of epic proportions. She had clearly had a time in her life that made water dangerous.
Over the last 1000 days, we have moved from a deep seated fear of water to a little girl who adores going to the pool and loves her swimming lessons.
Swimming is a life skill, so her traversing from point a - fear of water to point b - joy in water is a wonderful thing to see.
This is, in no small way, a testament to her foster family before us giving her a safe place to be before being placed with us.
