Sleep Deprived
For some reason my daughter isn't sleeping through the night. For the last few nights she's been waking up and coming into our bedroom multiple times. I walk her back to her bedroom, but it seems like within 90 minutes she's back in our bedroom again.
She isn't able to articulate why she's waking up, except to say that she wants to check to make sure we're still around. Something is going on, and she isn't really talking about it--either can't or won't. This is accompanied by many more tantrums during the day--perhaps due to her sleep deprivation as well.
I am feeling pretty tired and hope that this new phase passes soon.

Anything changed? Different school? Divorce? Moved houses? Change can cause insomnia.
It sounds like she is having an insecure period. Maybe you can try giving her more one on one attention, especially at bedtime (but not in the middle of the night).
Thanks. Yes, she gets lots of one on one attention--she is an only child at this point--and I do think that it helps.
She really is totally back into sleeping on our bedroom couch after several months of sleeping in her own bed. Even if she starts in her own room, she almost always ends up padding into our room and snuggling down on the couch.
