Medication Change

We've had a medication change in the house and I'm not seeing the benefit. If anything, behavior has become meaner and more belligerent. How long should I wait on this medication to see if it will change for the better? She was mean while on the older medication, but not like this.

Sounds like a contradictory side effect. Most docs would recommend you take her off the meds--but depending on what medication it is, you might need to taper it off.
so what did you do?
We did take her off of the new medication and went back to the tried and true - while it doesn't work perfectly it is far better. We've been through so many other changes since then that I'm terrified to tell the doctor when things aren't working as well as it used to. She's getting older and the medication goes through her system faster now. We have a path ahead, but have had to take a side trip through a medication we've used before without success in order to appease the insurance company. Day one had us finding the medication making the kiddo so drowsy she fell asleep on the couch, and very cranky and mean. I look forward to this trial period being over so we can move to something that has the potential of working.
