I think you're right that people (kids included) need as much stability as possible when going through therapy. Your relationship with a therapist is one of trust. Even those who are not traumatised need time to trust new people. With a child who has abandonment issues is going to feel abandoned every time he/she is forced into a new therapist relationship. This breaks the cycle of healing.
